BIOGRAPHY

Li-Heng Kuo (郭立衡, she/they) is a Taiwanese somatic performer and choreographer based in Essen, Germany. She studied dance at the National Taiwan University of Arts and later earned her BA at Folkwang University of the Arts, combining contemporary dance with martial arts and percussion. Her choreographic works include Implied Shapelessness 2.0 (Tanzwerkstatt Europa, Munich, 2025), Dear Conflict (2022), and Silent Breathe (2019, Silver Medal at TDF Taiwan Dance Festival). She has collaborated with artists such as Deufert & Plischke, Tilman O’Donnell, and Heidi Vierthaler, and performed at venues including Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company and FFT Düsseldorf. Beyond performance, Kuo develops long-term research through residencies such as Somatic Republic (Freiraum Düsseldorf, 2025), L.O.V.E (2024), and Our Body is Our Garden (France, 2023). Her practice investigates somatic awareness and collective negotiation, engaging communities through workshops that integrate movement, meditation, and sound.
